Musical Blitz is a 1940s revue covering the Second World War from the declaration on September 3, 1939 to a VE Day party in May 1945 through songs and sketches of life on the Home Front.
The production by Melton Musical Theatre Company has been co-written by Marilyn Pepper and John Hurton.
John, a professional actor and scriptwriter has written two sketches based on popular TV comedies Dad’s Army and ’Allo ’Allo.
Marilyn is also choreographing and producing the show.
She said “We have contacted local schools as the Second World War is part of their National Curriculum and will be offering a special ticket price for children and carers so they can see their studies of the era brought to life.”
The show is due to be staged at Melton Theatre from Thursday, March 29 to Saturday, March 31 at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Normal ticket prices are £10.
